My solution is a lightweight cotton pant, such as a Chino, that is soft to the touch. In terms of the jacket, go for something that is versatile. For flights, I opt for lightweight, slip on sneakers, such as TOMS, that have a little more material too them and a rugged tread, just in case you need to run to catch a flight.
